Chewy Hiring for Sr Financial Analyst at Boston, Massachusetts, US Full Time

Our Opportunity :

Chewy seeks a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Senior Financial Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team.

Combining an understanding of finance, practical knowledge of financial statements and using data to make-and-drive decisions, this candidate will perform various financial planning and analysis to support key strategic decisions, drive Chewy growth, and ensure financial objectives are achieved.

The candidate will work cross functionality, represent finance in various settings and be involved in the decision-making process by providing data-driven recommendations to various business partners.

What You’ll Do :

• Perform modeling and analytics to synthesize large sets of data and produce concise outputs to deliver business insights, and recommendations and / or conclusions to leadership
• Aid in the reporting and financial performance management frameworks for the business and help define key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall business performance
• Work cross-functionally with the broader Finance, Merchandising, Product, Marketing, Supply Chain and Accounting teams to fully understand the business, systems, and overall operations
• Actively participate in the strategic planning, target setting, and annual / quarterly planning processes by building & updating forecast models and creating alignment between business and finance teams
• Support financial reporting process for weekly and monthly business reviews
• Oversee the monthly close process ensuring books and records are accurately maintained in accordance with Chewy’s policies and procedures
• Effectively manage numerous projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

What You’ll Need :

• Ability to think creatively, self-start, work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines / prioritize changing workloads
• BA / BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management or Economics
• 3+ years relevant finance experience with a basic understanding of GAAP and grasp of financial statements
• Financial analysis and modeling skills, and experience in forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis
• Advanced Excel (, Data tables, pivot tables, etc.) skills
• Experience with SQL
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Bonus :

Experience with Hyperion Smartview, Tableau, Oracle ERP
