Overview:

Cedar Fair is seeking a Part-Time Accounting
Specialist- Payroll at our corporate office in
Sandusky, OH . The Accounting Specialist- Payroll will join
the Payroll team within Shared Accounting Services (SAS). In this
part-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and
timely processing of payroll, maintaining payroll system
functionality, and complying with payroll regulations and tax laws.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent
organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

The Accounting Specialist- Payroll reports directly to the
Corporate Manager- Payroll. This position collaborates extensively
with associates in the Timekeeping and Compliance (TAC) area of
payroll to develop efficiency gains, and ensure timeliness, accuracy,
and compliance in the execution of payroll responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of
  employee time and attendance, ensuring proper documentation and
  approval processes are followed.
• Collaborate with HR and
  Accounting departments to gather necessary data for payroll
  processing, such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, and
  benefits deductions.
• Collaborate with the payroll team to
  reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Calculate and process any manual adjustments, corrections,
  and retroactive pay as needed.
• Respond promptly and
  professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions,
  tax withholdings, and other related matters.
• Ensure the
  accuracy and completeness of payroll records by regularly updating and
  organizing them.
• Assist employees with understanding their
  pay statements and resolving any discrepancies.
• Escalate
  potential service issues to Corporate Payroll Manager.
• Support the payroll team in responding to payroll-related audits and
  inquiries, providing necessary documentation and information.
• Utilize payroll software or systems to input and process
  payroll data accurately and efficiently.
• Stay current with
  changes in garnishment laws and regulations and implement necessary
  updates to processes and systems.
• Collaborate with the
  payroll team to troubleshoot system issues and implement necessary
  updates or fixes.
• Provide exceptional customer service to
  employees, HR, and other stakeholders.
• Stay updated on
  system functionalities and participate in relevant training sessions
  as required.
• Assist with employee onboarding and
  offboarding processes, ensuring accurate payroll setup and final pay
  calculations.
• Work in a team environment coordinating with
  other team members in the processing of payroll.
• Follow and
  enforce compliance with professional accounting standards and best
  practices in accordance with GAAP.
• Follow and ensure that
  the internal control processes, policies, and procedures are strictly
  adhered to by all associates.
• Promote and maintain a strong
  culture of technical competence, personal accountability, and ethical
  behavior in all aspects of payroll and accounting work.
• Adhere to and enforce all Cedar Fair policies and procedures,
  including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and will demonstrate
  commitment to Cedar Fair core values and cornerstones.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or
  certification in payroll or accounting is a plus.
• Previous
  experience in payroll administration is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and
  regulations.
• Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and UKG
  Dimensions, strongly preferred.
• Experience with multi-state
  payroll and tax laws required.
• Excellent organizational
  skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Solid understanding of payroll knowledge and principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and
  calculations.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal,
  communication and customer service skills with both technical and
  functional end users.
• Effective communication skills to
  collaborate with team members and respond to employee inquiries.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as
  well as be part of a team when necessary.
• Confidence to ask
  questions and get clarification, display a positive attitude, and have
  a strong work ethic.
• Dependable, honest and exhibits
  integrity.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years
  of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit,
  criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references,
  per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial
  law.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods
  to meet business needs.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s
  License.
