Role :
Our Marketing Coordinators role is to increase the acquisition of memberships and member awareness concerning Credit Union products and services.
Conducts market research; analyzes factors such as : pricing, distribution and product performance. Supports the development and distribution of marketing and sales materials.
Assists in the production of advertising, marketing brochures, sales kits or other promotional materials. Provides statistical reports and recommendations to management and assists with the development plans for marketing.
Leads Credit Union social effort.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Marketing Coordinator assumes responsibility for effectively completing public relations activities and web site administration.
Writes and distributes press releases. Directs activities for grand openings. Invites media, prepares information sheets, orders signs and flowers, makes arrangements for photography, and provides store gifts.
Completes miscellaneous writing assignments including stories for member and staff newsletters. Creates articles, advertisements, and announcements for meetings and special events.
Prepares member communications including statement messages, envelope overprints, and teller receipt messages. Handles trademark registration functions.
Ensures that public relations activities are effective and support marketing objectives.
Marketing Coordinator assumes responsibility for coordinating and implementing effective Training policies, procedures, and programs.
Assists management in identifying Credit Union training and development needs. Assists in ensuring Credit Union personnel are well trained and effective in their respective positions.
Assists in ensuring that employee orientation, on-the-job training programs, and in-service activities are effective and appropriate.
Assists in coordinating, scheduling, and directing training activities. Completes training functions in accordance with established programs, policies, and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring that professional business relations exist with members, Chamber of Commerce, vendors, trade professionals, and the general public.
Builds and maintains professional relationships with business editors, media contacts, and trade professionals. Represents the Credit Union at conventions and business fairs, and actively sells products and services.
Directs Credit Union sponsorships to ensure that they support marketing goals. Answers related correspondence and represents the Credit Union at sponsor functions.
Resolves requests, questions, and problems courteously and professionally. Ensures that communications are efficient and effective.
Ensures that public relations and marketing activities create positive member, prospective member, and community responses.
Maintains and projects the Credit Union’s professional reputation.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and with management.
Attends and supports Marketing meetings and activities. Assists, serves and informs departments as needed. Answers questions and resolves problems.
Completes required reports and related documents promptly and accurately. Keeps Senior Management informed of area activities including training and of any significant concerns.
10% Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Writes and prepares training articles and stays current on training programs and procedures.
Completes special projects as assigned and assumes other related duties as assigned.

Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Experience : Six months to two years of similar or related experience. Banking experience desired.
Education : A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills : A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and / or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and / or individuals) becomes necessary.
