As the Accounting Manager, you will play an essential hands-on role on the Canby Builders Supply Co team. Reporting directly to the business owners and working closely with the Consulting Controller, and Operations Manager, you will participate in, oversee, and guide the performance and continued development of the accounting and administrative organization in the following areas:
Transactional accounting
Month-end close
Credit management.
Vendor payment management
Payroll Administration and Processing
Human Resources and benefits administration
Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities
Your success will be measured by your ability to:
Manage an organization structure and staffing to accomplish the department objectives in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Recruit, manage, evaluate, and provide ongoing training to accounting staff.
Direct, manage and perform the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, including inventory, accounts receivable and collections, accounts payable and vendor payments, payroll, fixed assets and cash management.
Perform day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function, including recruiting, screening, employee relations, timekeeping adjustments, benefits administration, and direct and coordinate the administrative functions of the company.
Monitor and analyze accounting data.
Implement accounting methodologies and processes that result in accurate transactional records, reconciliations, etc. in support of timely financial reporting.
Ensure a timely month-end close process that provides meaningful and consistently prepared financial statements and analysis to the owners.
Establish and maintain accounting and Human Resources files and records to document transactions.
Work cooperatively across the organization and within accounting to identify, develop, recommend and implement cost-effective and appropriate systems and processes to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Maintain regulatory compliance through timely preparation of required tax and other filings.
Partner with the owners, consulting controller, Operations Manager, and other members of the management team to evolve planning processes that support the growth of the organization and sound decision making.

Knowledge, Experience and Education
Minimum 3 years of experience obtained through increasingly responsible positions within accounting.
Excellent GAAP accounting knowledge with strong knowledge of inventory accounting practices and policies.
Knowledge of automated financial and reporting systems, Microsoft Office products, and other tools commonly used by accounting teams.
Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or a combination of experience and education.
