Job Summary: Provides oversight to financial operations for the pathology deartment.
Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs accounting activities. Prepares monthly reports, reviews with senior management, and recommends improvements. Processes accounting transactions.
Assists managers with budget preparation, monthly analysis and monthly variance reporting. Maintains records of expenses to be budgeted. Reviews submitted budgets and acts as consultant on modifications
Review and process of invoices, reimbursement and other payments in accordance with BIDMC and HMFP policies and practices.
Prepares journal entries and accruals to make the General Ledger reflect annual operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Partners with internal and external resources to resolve financial issues and in a timely manner.
Acts a liaison to external vendors, agencies, auditors for internal projects and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related required.
5-8 years related work experience required.
3 or more years in accounting and finance in a healthcare setting
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.
Team Work: Ability to lead collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to the Medical Center and across functional areas. Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization
Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally
