The Senior Analyst for Best Buy Health is a remote position that plays a key role in supporting Best Buy’s commitment to health technology. This role will have a strong emphasis in cross functional, project-based work which is intended to further develop Health’s accounting information systems and processes. The role will have opportunities to think creatively, provide meaningful inputs, and to build cross functional relationships during the design, development, and implementation stages of each project. Additionally, this role will have typical, recurring accounting tasks such as month end close journal entries, financial statement analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
This role is remote eligible, which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain technological literacies of Health’s tools, systems, and applications.
- Represent Controllership’s interests in cross functional project meetings.
- Organize, document, and present solutions to project specific issues, considerations, and open items.
- Lead medium-scale projects from end-to-end with guidance from leadership.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of assigned GL account groupings within Health’s income statement and balance sheet.
- Coordinate and support month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Analyze operational and financial data that results in meaningful commentary for the Health business.
- Build relationships with business partners.
Basic Qualifications
- 1.5+ years of experience in an Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Tax, Treasury capacity
- Intermediate proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, or other financial tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- An intermediate understanding of GAAP and full cycle accounting
- Experience with successfully implementing positive changes to accounting processes
- Experience with system implementations or other technological changes that impacted day to day accounting processes
