Belk Looking for Accounts Payable Analyst (Remote) at Charlotte, NC Full Time

This position will support aspects of Accounts Payable and is responsible for ensuring that tasks and responsibilities relati are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Focus will be on IT invoicing, PO processing, and vendor management. The role will also support projects related to AP including design, testing, documentation, training and implementation as needed. This person will work directly with enterprise-wide teams that will have an impact the company’s bottom line.

• Review and code IT supplier invoices, including following up with vendors on discrepancies raised by the business and proactively requesting missing invoices.
• Create POs in Lawson for IT and other areas of the business as needed.
• Build amortization schedules for amortized IT invoices and work with accounting to ensure reoccurring journal entries are set up.
• Work with off-shore team to resolve coding and budget issues on submitted invoices.
• Build partnerships with business partners from IT, Facilities, Store Operations, and Accounting
• Prepare ad hoc management reports, financial analyses, and presentations upon request.
• Participate in the preparation and review of SOX controls and documentation. Complete assignments related to internal and external audit requests with no deficiencies.
• Ensure deadlines are adhered that would result in accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in any projects and analysis requests made by senior management.
• Hold Vendor Meetings to reconcile issues on payment and shipping, including proactively requesting AR statements.

Education & Experience:

• 4-year degree- specialty in Accounting/Business preferred
• 3+ years of related work experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
• Lawson Accounting system
• Strong PC and Analytical skills
• Proficiency in Hyperion Software & Essbase
• Ability to think critically and make recommendations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to work in a dynamic and changing environment
