FINANCE GRANT MANAGER
This position is responsible for budgetary and operational aspects of Grant funds. This position serves as the finance liaison with the Development and Program Directors and provides guidance in the financial administration of both Government and Foundation grants (grants).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Contracts & Budgets
Develop and assist grant budgets for all grant applications submission and post-award notification.
Review new and existing contracts for fiscal regulations, reporting requirements, forms, deadlines and any other Funder financial requirements. Knowledgeable of OMB-Circulars and all guidelines pertinent to assigned grants/programs.
Interface with program directors regarding budgets, allowable expenses and other pertinent matters relating to assigned grants. Works with program directors regarding new award contract term, management, budget, and allowable expenses to ensure they have the necessary information to monitor/fulfil the administrative requirements.
Operational transactions – in force grants
Implements grant budgets and modifications with the finance staff and program directors. Assigns payroll/staffing.
Manage the invoicing, accounting and other administrative functions of the grant to ensure successful execution of that grant. Review and code all check requests/invoices for assigned programs/grants to verify that they are allowable. Review the general ledger for accuracy of grant revenue/expenses and correct original transactions as needed (AP, AR, journal entries).
Reimbursement & Reporting
Create Funder monthly grant reports and reimbursement requests with all appropriate back up required by each funding source in a timely manner. Track the balances of grants and notify program directors of any problems.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reports from post award throughout the life-cycle of the grant.
Create and run monthly budget/forecast and other financial grant reports. Distribute and review reports with program directors, CFO and CEO.
Funders, Sub-recipient, and Other Collaborating Agencies
Works directly with Government Grant Funders to seek approval for advance authorizations, prior approval requests, no cost extensions, budget adjustments/modifications. Coordinates and communicates the Government Grant Funder approvals to the Program Director and executes/maintains all applicable documentation for the contract.
Sub-recipient agencies: Coordinates grant activities with Sub-recipient agencies to ensure adherence to financial guidelines and timelines. Perform periodic desk audits and site visits with sub-recipients. Review, audit and follow up with sub-recipient reimbursement requests.
Coordinate with other agencies regarding grant funding collaborations.
Other
Prepare and manage the year-end audit work papers on all assigned grants as part of the A-133 audit and work with the external auditors on the A-133 audit as well as a variety of other program audits throughout the year.
Back-up for finance department as needed.

Qualifications
· A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience and budgeting, preferably in a not-for-profit environment, including knowledge of foundation and government grants.· Knowledge of GAAP, Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200, A-133 Audits.· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or commensurate experience.
· Knowledge of Financial Edge NXT accounting software preferred
· Strong analytical skills and reasoning skills
· Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
· Excellent computer and accounting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
· Strong communications and relationship management skills, professional demeanor and ability to thrive in a diverse environment.
· Very strong organizational and time management skills to be able to efficiently prioritize work and meet identified deadlines.
