American Express Technology is a critical Enterprise function, serving as the backbone of all we do, from providing the underlying infrastructure of the company to building core products and services we deliver to our customers. Amex Technology has changed dramatically over the last few years, and as Technology continues to evolve its operating model, the Finance organization needs to evolve with it. The Tech Finance team provides enterprise value through delivering data-driven insights and analytics related to Business drivers and core Technology priorities that ultimately enables business decisions and affects Technology’s overall financial position.
This Finance Manager role will work closely with Technology Risk and Information Security and Technology Business Management organizations, providing financial decision support, key analytics, and strategic oversight and reporting for a multitude of critical priorities while building a strong partnership with senior leaders in Technology and across Finance.
Key responsibilities:
Provide financial transparency and innovation in how we report and communicate financial results for Technology, both for Tech Investment and Operations
Build meaningful partnerships with Technology teams and leadership to enable optimal outcomes and achievement of operating expense commitments for the Enterprise
Support and manage planning, forecasting and results processes for an expense base that drives critical investment decisions for the Enterprise
Partner with key Finance, Business, and Technology stakeholders to drive increased efficiencies and achievement of shared goals
Perform strategic ad-hoc analyses and research to turn data into more insightful information driving business decisions
Lead and motivate an Analyst with a focus on professional development
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of Finance experience preferred
Expertise in planning and forecasting methodologies
Passion for developing and driving partnerships across multiple functions across the enterprise
Process optimization experience and understanding of optimization methodology
Strong project management experience
Proven direct people leadership experience
Strong working proficiency of Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
Understanding of Oracle, TM1, Hyperion Essbase, and other financial tools
Working knowledge of SQL and big data analysis tools (Yellowbrick, PowerBI, Tableau) preferred
MBA/CPA or equivalent preferred
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
