Summary: This position performs generalist responsibilities to support the business within every area of Human Resources, and Payroll.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains and improves Employee Relations.
2. Enhances and supports departments on sale day.
3. Maintains payroll by checking hours and keeping records to ensure all employees are appropriately compensated.
4. Makes major financial decisions regarding garnishments, court orders of support, and other related payroll deductions.
5. Oversees timekeeping and Paychex operations.
6. Creates a positive work environment and projects a positive image of the company.
7. Investigates accidents and incidents causing personal injury and logs them appropriately for OSHA
8. Reports to Senior Management regarding the overall operation of Human Resources within the company.
9. Collaborates with other managers and staff members to ensure safe practices are in effect at all times.
10. Maintains compliance with all workers compensation claims.
11. Compliance and Administration
a) Oversees FMLA and ADA programs including maintaining logs; advises employees of eligibility; provides application information; helps with form completion; verifies submission; notifies employees of approvals.
b) Provides information to coordinate reference, background, and drug screen checks for all prospective hires and/or current employees, while accurately documenting these activities.
c) Maintains documentation and record of all forms and logs ensuring company remains compliant with the DOL, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission [EEOC], VETS, OSHA and other governmental agencies requiring reporting and compliance.
d) Ensures mandatory labor posters on bulletin boards are updated and current.
e) Monitors unemployment claims by reviewing claims; substantiating documentation; requesting legal counsel review.
f) Maintains Human Resource records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases; tracking vacation, sick, and personal time; keeps emergency contact information updated; records all disciplinary actions; and performance reviews.
12. Employee Benefits Program
a) Administers benefits programs and develops working relationships with third party service providers.
b) Sends out required notices and determines eligibility for participants in benefit programs.
13. Employee Relations
a) Conducts employee orientation by providing orientation information packets and exposure to other departments; reviews company policies; gathers withholding and other payroll information; explains benefit programs.
b) Acts as the point-person for employees’ issues and inquiries.
c) Helps improve employee wellness and morale.
d) Supports organizational culture and values.
14. Performance Management
a) Assists with job descriptions; outlines all skills and qualities required and desired in a successful job applicant and keeping the descriptions updated as the company grows.
b) Maintains employee handbook and personnel policies and procedures.
15. Recruiting – Sources, screens, interviews, and tests applicants; notifies existing staff of internal opportunities; coordinates use of employment agencies if applicable.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
