AKDO Looking for Junior Staff Accountant at Bridgeport, CT Full Time

We have an immediate business need for a Junior Accountant/AR Concentration for our Corporate Offices in Bridgeport, CT.

The Junior Accountant is responsible for processing all daily receipts related to customers; payments and monitoring the accounts receivable schedule on a weekly basis including customer and general ledger account reconciliations. This position performs a range of general bookkeeping & accounting support functions for the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Prepare and post daily deposits for three locations
• Process credit card payments, virtual check payments, wire payments, and ACH payments
• Create invoices & credit notes for customers & prepare monthly statements
• Manage accounts receivable and collect payment for overdue invoices
• Create Daily Invoice Batches
• Prepare and coordinate internal and external RMA’s
• Investigate and resolve customer queries
• Work closely with Customer Service and Commercial departments for account payments
• Act as a backup for Accounts Payable as needed
• Record & store deposits paperwork
• Other duties as assigned by management

Education/Experience:

• BS/BA required in a related field
• 2+ years’ experience in accounting, including GL, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Microsoft Office experience with strong Excel skills (Pivot Table, V Look ups)
• ERP experience, Sage preferred
• Credit and Collections experience required

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an eye for details
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time-management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask but keep a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
