Summary of Responsibilities:
The Human Resource Generalist (HRG) administers human resources plans and procedures for all agency employees. The duties include but are not limited to:
Assists with preparing and maintaining employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
Create and publish job ads.
Follow up with candidates throughout the hiring process.
Collaborate with Hiring Managers: Work closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, job requirements, and candidate preferences.
Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
Files mandated annual, quarterly, and other periodic reports; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to federal and state regulations.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Participates in and attends professional meetings and seminars; assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Working collaboratively with Payroll, IT, and Training coordinates the monthly onboarding and orientation of new employees.
Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports as requested by other departments.
Creates, processes and distributes all employee information throughout the Agency.
Provides assistance in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
Maintain positive, helpful and professional working relationships with AK Child & Family employees and the general public to include job applicants, applicant referral sources and benefits providers and vendors.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

All employees with AK Child & Family are required to be in compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid COVID vaccine mandate. The mandate requires that by 2/14/22, staff at all health care facilities must have received their first dose of a 2-shot series (Moderna or Pfizer, currently) or a single dose of a 1-shot vaccine (Johnson and Johnson, currently) with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate. Staff must complete this step before they can provide any care, treatment or other services for the facility and/or its patients. By 3/15/22, all staff with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate, must complete the primary vaccination series.

Pay:
$24.00 + DOE
3% Pay increase after successful completion of a 6-month Intro Period
Supervision and Coordination of Services:
The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) reports directly to the Human Resource Director and works collaboratively with the staff of the Finance and Payroll Departments in the coordination of payroll and benefits.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The Human Resources Generalist must be experienced in HRIS computer software.
Demonstrate the following abilities: type forty-five (45) words per minute.
Familiarity with recruitment practices, including candidate sourcing, screening, and selection techniques.
Strong understanding of equal employment opportunity and diversity and inclusion principles.
Communicate clearly and effectively with agency staff and the general public.
Write reports and letters with correct spelling and grammar in English.
Communicate frequently in person, on the telephone and in writing with employees, referral sources, job applicants, insurance company representatives and other vendors
Strong attention to detail needed for inputting data, generating statistical reports, and maintaining checklists and tracking programs.
Strong organizational skills are required.
The HRG must have considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Education and experience:
The Human Resources Generalist must hold a bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience to equal 4 years.
At least three years of human resource management experience preferred.
A Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
Physical Demands:
The HRG must be able to handle file boxes up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
The ability to input data and generate letters, printed reports and payroll information with a personal computer is required.
Must be able to reproduce large numbers of applications, forms, etc. on a copy machine forty-four (44) inches high, and to file in cabinets thirty-five (35) inches high.
The ability to communicate frequently in person, via telephone, and in writing with employees, referral sources and applicants is essential.
