Adams Keegan Looking for Senior Vice President Finance – 1072105 at Memphis, TN Full Time

Our client is a Memphis-based commercial real estate company that owns, leases, develops and manages all of their properties. Under the direct supervision of the CFO, the SVP, Finance is responsible for assisting with all financial practices; will play a role in strategic planning (assessing business needs and opportunities for growth) and in strategic transactions; will support multiple businesses with financial planning and guidance; and will develop banking relationships for corporate banking and financing transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department to include general accounting, payroll, fixed assets, tax compliance, bank reconciliations and annual reports.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization’s financial performance.
• Advise the CEO, COO, on financial matters including company performance, strategic transactions, real estate, etc.
• Manage banking relationships (currently 6 banks); negotiate new and renewal loans and lines of credit. Maintain sweep accounts and ACH initiation and validation.
• Continually improve budgeting and financial reporting practices. Direct short and long-term financial planning, in conjunction with other strategic planning, to better prepare the company for growth.
• Develop a centralized Treasury function responsible for cash management, investments, and management of treasury staff. Manage all aspects of global cash flow.
• Help identify, source, and execute on acquisitions, and other strategic relationships.
• Manage receivables, payables and lease administration for properties.
• Construction in Progress cost allocation experience.
• PILOT, rehabilitation credit and historic preservation administration.
• Direct and lead teams responsible for performing due diligence on investment opportunities; support negotiations during M&A deals and support the integration of purchased companies post-deal.
• Develop cash flow, capital expenditures, cost accounting, and other models to support business decisions. Perform ad hoc modeling and analysis as required.
• Analyze financial performance to address ways to reduce expenses, better allocate resources, and increase revenue.
• Oversee internal audits and ensure proper internal controls are in place. Support external CPAs performing annual audits or reviews.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards for privately-held businesses.
• Ensure record keeping standards are maintained and proper documentation of financial matters, whether digital or physical, are safely kept.
• Manage procurement function for enterprise vendors and negotiate contracts on behalf of member companies.
• Oversee payroll and employees’ benefits programs.
• Involvement in all aspects of financial management associated with real estate entities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. A master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
• 10+ years of leadership experience required in public accounting or related corporate finance/accounting in industry position. Experience with a family business is preferred.
• Experience with Commercial Real Estate preferred.
• Strong business acumen and data analytics skills.
• Highly competent in Accounting Standards and Regulations, Tax Policy, Real Estate, Financial Reporting and Planning, and Finance/Accounting Information Technology Systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, while managing competing tasks and deadlines.
• Demonstrated sound decision making and innovative problem-solving skills.
