Accounting Resources Looking for Accounting Clerk at Greater St. Louis Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates invoices and submits invoices to customers
• Maintains and updates customer files
• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment
• Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, and preparing remittance advices to vendors
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed
• Reconciles accounts receivable and accounts payable on a periodic basis
• Calculates and reports sales tax based on invoices
• Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger
• Assists Accounting Manager in reconciling various accounts each month
• Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed
• Performs other related accounting duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Two-Year Associates Degree and 2 years related experience
• Knowledge of NetSuite preferred
• Advanced Excel experience
• Experience in AP/AR
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Data entry skills
• Knowledge of basic general ledger and accounting principles
