Payroll Administration:
Audits payroll reports and rosters to ensure accurate pay for monthly and biweekly payroll cycles; adheres to published deadlines for payroll processing.
Process final pay and leave payouts; adheres to published deadlines to prevent overpay/underpay.
Processes payroll expense transfers. Payroll, Timekeeping, and Human Resources system; analyze and resolve discrepancies; prepare appropriate documents for transactions; adhere to published deadlines for online entry updates.
Investigates, analyzes, and resolves missing pay, late pay and overpayments when necessary.
Personnel Administration:
Analyzes and interprets guidelines and policies to provide advice and counsel to unit clients on issues such as compensation and benefits considerations.
Process transactions in Payroll, Academic Personnel, Timekeeping, and Human Resources system, including position management, hires, personnel review outcomes, leave absences, terminations, special salary programs, one-time pays, additional pays, and funding. Resolve concurrent job conflicts; analyze and resolve discrepancies; prepare appropriate documents for transactions; adhere to published deadlines for online entry updates.
Oversees instructor and vendor compensation and payroll process.
Maintains and updates instructor records in the academic record system payroll systems.
Initiates and approves inter-campus payment requests.
Provides detailed analysis of all academic personnel actions ensuring actions are consistent with University policies and divisional practice and precedent, identifying potential issues and make recommendations.
Skills:
Requires the ability to draft process and procedures, and support revisions for Accounting & Finance
Requires thorough knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
Ability to understand an organization or college goals, priorities and values and the legal and human implications of decisions.
Keen attention to detail
Knowledge of PeopleSoft software
