The Program Manager / Engineering Manager role is a combined opportunity to help drive our client’s projects from initial concept through successful production launch.
The role involves working closely with Customers, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in both structured program management as well as experience supervising focused technical teams.
Requirements :
BS Degree in Engineering preferred
Minimum of 7-10 years of product engineering experience preferred, with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems
Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role
Understanding and development of Intellectual property, including : patent, trademark and trade secret development
Strong background in structured program management disciplines. PMP Certification or equivalent demonstrated experience required.
Familiar with the Stage-Gate process
Responsibilities, including, but not limited to :
Develop key relationships both internally and externally to the company to better serve stakeholders.
Manage multiple project inputs including voice of the customer, cost, timing, and resources to achieve win-win outcomes.
Utilizing Stage-Gate disciplines, plan and manage projects from initial concept through production launch. Projects may include new product development, ongoing product improvement, compliance, re-sourcing, or continuous improvement projects.
Manage team activities to achieve success. The team will include a small group of direct report Engineers and Technicians, as well as a larger group of shared resources across the organization.
Supervision will include both day to day as well as longer term activities like planning, succession, development, and discipline.
Provide value to customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap / rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people).
Use systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems.
Involved in individual and / or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.
