Position Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports to: Sr. Manager, US Writing Finance
Job Summary:
This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Finance for the US Writing Division and will support the finance and brand management team in the new product development process, product profitability analysis, and monthly Brand P&L forecasting and reporting. The work completed in this role will influence management decision making by providing timely and accurate financial information. The applicant should be comfortable working in a fast paced, flexible environment. This role has potential for expanded responsibilities and an opportunity for development and growth within the organization
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform analysis and reporting for the brand development teams to guide profitable business decisions
Understand sales & profitability across brands
Analyze on a detailed basis and estimate profitability of new projects as well capital investments; responsible for modeling & tracking these new product investments
Contribute to the month-end close process, monthly business reviews, and budget/forecasting cycles
Drive continuous improvements to processes and management reporting within the finance organization to reduce manual effort, redundant work and improve the quality of financial data
Analyze large amounts of data and summarizing key takeaways and insights
Ad hoc financial analysis projects and report preparation (frequent)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance; CPA desired
0-2 years of combined experience in finance/accounting related file
Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); SAP/Hyperion is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Self-starter with the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously and properly prioritize responsibilities. Must see routine tasks through to completion.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment dealing with many different departments.
Attention to detail, thoroughness, accuracy, and overall quality of work as work involves summarizing and integrating information, checking details, verifying calculations, critical evaluation, and logical analysis of data.
