We are seeking an experienced Vice President or Director of Operations for a successful e-commerce business!
Vice President of Operations – The Role
The Vice President of Operations will help drive a customer-centric world-class organization’s operational efficiency and scalability. In this key role, you will implement best-in-class warehouse operations, customer care, and HR/ talent acquisition processes to help us deliver against our customers’ promises.
Customer experience and operations are at the heart of the business, which specializes in premium cigars. The company is well known for their speed, accuracy, and exceptional pre-and post-sale service. The warehouse/distribution center delivers thousands of products annually to customers throughout the United States & Internationally. The business is growing fast and in this role, you’ll be in a fast-paced, startup-type environment where you will lead your team from the front and be involved in the overall day-to-day operations.
Key Requirements:
● 5+ Years of experience in a senior-level role
● 5+ Years of experience in E-Commerce logistics/operations
● 5+ Years of experience in warehouse operations
● 5+ Years of experience leading and building large teams
● 2+ Years of experience in customer service leadership
● 1+ Years of experience relocating large warehouse operations
● 1+ Years of experience being responsible for hiring decisions

Core Responsibilities
● Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including inventory management, procurement, and vendor management.
● Lead and communicate at the executive level, demonstrating the ability to influence and resolve issues, prioritize, and build consensus among diverse internal/external stakeholders, and negotiate and mediate conflict resolution.
● Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, systems, and workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations across various departments with a focus on fulfillment, logistics, and customer service/engagement.
● Lead customer service teams to develop and implement strategies for exceptional customer experiences and enhanced engagement by resolving issues promptly and continuously improving customer satisfaction metrics.
● Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, finance, and technology, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities with overall business objectives.
● Manage all monthly and annual budgeting processes and P&L responsibilities with a focus on cost control and sustained profitability.
● Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track key operational metrics, identify trends, and generate actionable insights for operational optimization and informed decision-making.
● Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry requirements related to operations & logistics.
About You
● Highly organized and skilled at building Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from scratch.
● Highly experienced in warehouse operations/logistics
● Highly skilled leader of managers and front-line employees from hiring, onboarding, development, and mentoring
● Have previously been responsible for the physical and financial execution of the relocation of a warehouse and/or office building
● A champion for technological innovation and experience in utilizing WMS, HRIS, ERP systems as well as Gsuite and Shopping Carts, etc.
● Have previously implemented an OMS or WMS system
● Experienced in Customer Service, Human Resources
