Summary of Job Duties: The Data Coordinating and Operations Center (DCOC) for the IDeA States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network (ISPCTN) is a network which will provide rural and underserved children with representation in clinical studies exploring environmental influences on early development and child health. The Clinical Research Finance Coordinator (CRFC) is responsible for the financial management of contractual agreements between the DCOC and 17 states comprising the ISPTCN. The CRFC will ensure timely and accurate clinical trial invoicing and payment. Will work closely with Team Lead and fellow staff members in the DCOC to provide data and financial expertise to research staff regarding multiple clinical research accounts. This position will develop and maintain detailed systems to ensure accurate and timely accounts payable and accounts receivable. This position must be able to organize complex projects, provide attention to detail, communicate effectively, and contributes information and ideas related to areas of responsibility as part of a cross-functional team. Ensures effective and efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards for staff/program and self. The CRFC will maintain a working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and the code of conduct for human research. The applicant will work directly with pharmaceutical company sponsors, institutional investigators, and research staff. This position will conduct complex work important to the organization and contribute to the measurable team and/or organization objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare-related field plus five (5) years of finance experience that may include research finance, medical billing, or grants management OR
High School/GED plus nine (9) years of finance experience that may include research finance, medical billing, or grants management required.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing detailed budget management and design during protocol development and project duration.
Perform financial management of investigator-initiated clinical trial budgets and clinical trial agreements (CTAs).
Knowledge of clinical trial terminology and utilization of databases and UAMS tools such as CLARA and national databases such as C3PR.
Accountability in this position is driven by the national and local regulations which govern the billing, invoicing, and insurance coverage of clinical trial procedures.
Uses IT and informatics tools to report on benchmarks and monitor metrics for clinical trials.
Devises appropriate methods of collecting, reporting, and monitoring of budget data and financial projections to institutional administration.
Audits and monitors billing and invoicing procedures and financial data collection.
Works with principal investigators, clinical research personnel, and institutional staff regarding research studies and corresponding budgets.
Participates in ongoing professional training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
