As a Control Manager, Vice President, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the Securities Services business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
You will sit within the front office Controls Management team in New York, which is a part of the global Securities Services team. While the role will be focused on Client Service and Solutions, the Controls Management team is fungible and collaborates closely to cover the full range of Securities Services.
Job responsibilities
Serve as a trusted control advisor to the Front Office – including prepping it for examinations and audits
Represent Front Office interests vis-a-vis control/regulatory initiatives
Drive the control agenda to identify and remediate control gaps.
Execute and implement of business control priorities and strategy
Identification, documentation and remediation of control gaps, risk assessment and root cause issue analysis
Improve the “user experience” for all stakeholders and partners, i.e., focus in enhancing transparency, efficiency and simplicity of control processes
Represent the Global Control Management organization with relevant senior business and functional leads
Lead Front Office supervision management and execution
Front office supervisory tool development
Front Office supervision and oversight including exception management
Supervisory attestations
Policy development, review and implementation
Operating procedures documentation and implementation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Professional experience (7+ years) in regulatory, risk, and/or control areas ideally coupled with business management experience
Experience delivering strong governance and oversight across line of business and risk disciplines
Track record in transforming business aligned risk and/or control reporting and analytics
Analytical thinker who is adept at reading across issues and identifying key drivers, Must have the ability to understand and summarize relevant business data, identifying key messages for Senior Management
Confident professional with good judgment, maturity, and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management
Well-organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes
Have a collaborative style, be flexible, and have an ability to partner with other team members across global time zones
Excellent management skills, including ability to matrix manage
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas simply
Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
High attention to detail
