Position Overview:
The Group Finance Director is a member of Masco’s finance leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of several Masco Corporation business units. This position is the finance business partner to the Group President and works closely with business unit leadership to influence financial and strategic decisions at the business units within their scope of responsibility. The position also collaborates closely with Masco’s corporate finance functions including Business Development, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Corporate Control Services, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, General Accounting, Tax and Treasury. The Group Finance Director reports to the Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Masco Corporation.
Responsibilities:
Business Planning & Decision Support
Partner with the Group President and business unit leadership by providing analysis and insights on key financial, operational, and strategic decisions and initiatives (including strategic funding requests, capital investments, ERP, growth or exit of lines of business, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures)
Collaborate on the development and execution of cross-business unit and platform strategies and initiatives.
Analyze financial information across multiple business units and identify key business insights, drivers, and trends for presentation to the executive leadership team.
Operational & Financial Performance Monitoring and Improvement
Monitor and review the financial, operational, and strategic performance (KPIs) of the business units and follow-up on unusual trends and variances.
Work with the Group President and business unit leaders to drive actions to improve financial, operational, and strategic performance.
Evaluate, challenge, and implement efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
Forecasting & Planning
Support enterprise-wide annual and long-range strategic planning processes to create shareholder value.
Assess the adequacy of and provide the appropriate direction on monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
Provide feedback and guidance on operational and strategic plans.
Financial Control
Lead on-site balance sheet and income statement account reviews at the business units.
Monitor the internal control environment to ensure a sound basis for financial reporting.
Assist the Financial Reporting, FP&A and Investor Relations teams in identifying key performance drivers and trends by segment for external financial reporting purposes.
Coordinate with various compliance and reporting functions to ensure any critical or sensitive issues are resolved on a timely basis.
Talent Management
Partner with the business unit general managers and finance leaders to drive talent management and development initiatives.
Provide on-going support, coaching, and direction to business unit finance leaders and their teams.
Manage and mentor staff and create an engaging work environment for the team.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline. MBA, CPA preferred.
Minimum 15 years of relevant financial and business leadership experience.
Proven experience in positions requiring a solid understanding and practical application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience effectively working with and presenting information to executive management teams.

Software skills: Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system preferred.
Must be willing to travel up to 35%.
