The Director of Finance and Operations contributes to Texas PTA’s mission by providing strategic and operational oversight of the association’s fiscal, human resource, facilities, database, and IT management systems, procedures and processes. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with specific expertise in accounting and fiscal management, human resource law and best practice, nonprofit management and governance, database administration, and IT/operations management, as well as experience in training and supporting volunteers. The finalist must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a passion for volunteers, and a vested interest in making every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. This is a full-time, in-office, exempt position with a generous benefits package. Some evening and weekend work is required, as well as occasional travel.
Position Summary: The Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for overseeing and directing the association’s finances, human resources, facilities, database and IT.
Financial Management: Responsibilties include, but are not limited to, directing the finance department, preparing the budget, conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports for management’s and board of directors’ review, developing and implementing an effective system of accounting and controls, managing the payroll system, and maintaining accurate and current financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Serves as a resource for local leaders to answer financial questions.
Human Resources: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing payroll, benefits administration, and all human resource functions in collaboration with the association’s professional employee organization.
Operations: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing and maintaining the facilities, database, and other office systems.
