Overview:
The Manager’s primary function is to ensure that the office is operating and full potential each day, supervise all office staff, help providers with their daily needs and assist patients with any questions or concerns.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Communication: effectively communicates with the patients, family members, physicians’ offices, physicians, and other business office staff.
2. Supports company operations by maintaining office systems and supervising staff.
3. Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures, preparing payroll, reviewing supply requests and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
4. Oversee and streamline billing and collection processes.
5. Collection operations.
6. Assist insurance companies regarding claims/authorizations.
7. Work with patients and insurance companies to solve claim denials.
8. Work with providers and insurance companies to solve authorization denials.
9. Investigate, appeal and solve insurance denials.
10. Necessary follow-up with insurance companies.
11. Tracking appeals and identifying patterns in claim/authorization denails.
12. Research and analyze data needed for reimbursement.
13. Verify CPT, HCPCS and ICD-19 codes for coverage, reimbursement and compliance.
14. Answering incoming calls, communicating professionally and effectively to assist patients and insurance companies with questions regarding billing, claim/authorizations denials, account balances and taking payments.
15. Maintains office staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
16. Maintains office staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
17. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
18. Computer Skills: must utilize computer skills to access medical and office software programs and Internet based systems;
19. General Office Skills: excellent organizational skills, moderate typing skills, general office skills such as telephone, filing, fax, and copier skills; must be able to use mathematical skills to prepare the patient copays each day;
Education and Experience:
Must have a high school education or equivalent and at least two years experience in the medical records field, preferably with insurance knowledge
Certification / Licensure:
None required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time; must have adequate dexterity for computer keyboarding, and adequate vision and hearing to operate a computer and telephone system efficiently; must be able to recognize correct medical and surgical terminology;

Personal:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate proper telephone etiquette; must possess a high degree of judgment and discretionary skills; must be able to work cooperatively with the Administrative Assistant, Director of Nursing, Anesthesia Department, physicians, physicians’ staffs, and facility’s clerical and clinical staff;
