Job Overview
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Marketing Communications Strategist is a part of a dynamic team of dedicated professionals, responsible for managing the organization’s marketing, communications and social media. The Marketing Communications Strategist will promote the organization’s mission and vision by analyzing the donor market and developing a communication strategy that increases awareness of milk donations and engages current and prospective milk donors. The Marketing Communications Strategist will also analyze and utilize data derived from the organization’s various social media sites to increase awareness of milk donation and build the organization’s social media community. Communication strategies includes standardizing messaging across all marketing collateral to build the organization’s brand, and enhance and enrich the position and image of Mothers’ Milk Bank to meet strategic goals and objectives. The Marketing Communications Strategist will work in collaboration with the Marketing Community Outreach Manager by engaging individuals, community organizations and health care professionals to support Mothers’ Milk Bank services through milk drives, and regional and state events. Local and occasional regional travel required.
Core Accountabilities
· Using market research, develop and implement quantifiable business goals into marketing communications strategies and activities
· Develop strategies to achieve the organization’s goals related to increasing awareness of milk donation and growing the milk donor base
· Maintain broad-based knowledge of the organization and its operations
· Stay abreast of internal and external developments, industry trends, as they pertain to the Mothers’ Milk Bank
· Manage website, including: maintain integrity of website content and structure. Ensures all marketing collateral are of the highest technical standards in the areas of content, design and impact
· Oversee creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements, and other promotional materials
· Develop and implement fundraising campaigns
· Generate a dynamic social media presence with appropriate content for support of the organization
· Expand the Partners with Experts to find opportunities for educating communities and groups on milk banking and donor milk
· Develop relationships with social media influencers to accelerate the growth in awareness of milk donation
· Actively manage relationships with various media outlets to position Mothers’ Milk Bank as a valued community resource
Communications and Working Relationships
Internal:
· Strong commitment to the mission and goals of Mothers’ Milk Bank
· Works collaboratively with Mothers’ Milk Bank departments to ensure ample supply of donated milk to meet customers’ needs
· Works collaboratively with Marketing Community Outreach Manager to increase awareness of milk donation
External:
· Educates prospective and existing donors on the donation process
· Ensures a good working relationship with various media outlets
· Represents Mothers’ Milk Bank at community events and conferences
Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor degree in Marketing, Journalism, English or communications field or the equivalent in progressive work experience.
Knowledge & Experience:
· 5 years’ experience in a progressively responsible communications position, managing communications projects and developing strategies.
· Strong commitment to the mission and goals of Mothers’ Milk Bank
· Demonstrated success developing and leading outreach, promotions, and fundraising campaigns with non-profit organizations
· Experience in developing and applying comprehensive marketing communications plans.
· Familiarity with survey and ROI tools and their applications.
Skills:
· Possess effective communication skills (verbal and written) with a keen attention to detail
· Ability to problem solve for timely, successful resolution
· Ability to identify and analyze customer needs and translate them into innovative and effective solutions.
· Ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects and balance shifting priorities with grace under pressure
· Confident skills using Microsoft Windows and Office Suite
· Possess current driver license and insurance
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
