Guides and directs financial analysis, evaluation, and report generation activities of current and proposed financial plans in a manner designed to protect assets, meet reporting requirements, provide timely, meaningful reporting of operations, and effectively plan for and audit financial needs of firm.
Directs preparation of reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives and policies.
Provides for sound and timely managerial decisions and controls through provision of analyzed and evaluated financial operational data and information to management.
Supervises and directs activities of Plant Controllers and assists with management and training of support staff as needed.
Works with other functional managers to coordinate efforts between departments and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Provides performance feedback on an ongoing basis and other forms of coaching/counseling as needed. Provides training opportunities to ensure department personnel can obtain skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform duties and responsibilities of job.
Executes and ensures adherence to Company personnel policies and procedures, working with Human Resources personnel as needed to administer disciplinary actions and resolve employee problems, conflicts, etc.
Analyzes costs and assists in preparation of departmental budget(s).
Understands and evaluates product and structure offerings, equipment capabilities, and technical applications to identify and suggest efficiency and cost savings opportunities.
Assists in preparation for annual financial audits; workpaper documentation, processes & procedures and controls.
Assists in management of working capital-inventory and accounts receivable.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management; four years as department supervisor or manager.
CPA preferred.
Manufacturing knowledge or experience is a plus.
