The Marketing and Communications Manager will provide marketing and communications expertise in support of UNC-Chapel Hill Digital and Lifelong Learning programs and services, as well as other supported campus programs. The Marketing and Communications Manager informs strategic planning for DLL’s professional and continuing education programming. They create and implement an annual strategic marketing plan for supported DLL programs in close collaboration with the program directors, and they consult with campus units about marketing/enrollment efforts for professional and continuing education programming upon request. This may include (but is not limited to): content creation (writing and design), website support, list management, ad buys, multimedia project coordination, marketing budget management for a combined budget of around $50,000, social media management, and event planning and support.They will need to be able to assess the market for each program, determine key audience segments, identify the differentiated value proposition and key messages, and plan and execute a strategic marketing campaign that will establish new programs and grow enrollment for existing programs. They will be expected to lead key decisions about brand, messaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategy.The programs this role will support are often newly developing. This individual should be prepared to advise and execute on a wide variety of program development support areas, such as: market analysis/environmental scanning, partnership models, community relations, pricing, differentiated value proposition identification, message development, and stakeholder management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
