World Relief (WR) is a humanitarian and development NGO tackling the world’s greatest problems with sustainable solutions and transformational programming. World Relief’s US Programs serves to resettle refugees and provide services to immigrant populations throughout the US.
The US Finance and Grants Manager, which sits within the US Programs Division, partners with US field offices and the Home Office Finance division to help bring financial and operational management support where local resources or staff are under-equipped and helps Home Office in streamlining functions and communication.
Compensation: $60,000-$65,000
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
FINANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as liaison between field, US Leadership and Corporate Finance in creating organizational alignment and addressing challenges with implementing within local context
Create and facilitate finance training for finance staff and office directors
Ensure US Programs staff are supported with adequate support in order to properly perform required operations and financial tasks
Integrate financial processes and communications among the different organizational departments
Ensure relevant US Programs teams are proficient in the use of organizational financial tools/resources
May temporarily act as Finance Manager in a US field office if there are staffing gaps
Participate in hiring of field finance managers and support the training and onboarding of new finance field staff. Support training of existing staff as needed
GRANTS MANAGEMENT
Provide grant budget feedback and review for new grant applications
Provide grant financial monitoring and review reporting, particularly for private funding.
Work with Grants & Foundation Team to develop best practices in grant processes, communications, and reporting requirements
Will work on building processes with others in the Division to organize proposal processes, and revenue forecasting
In Coordination with the Controller, US Programs
Review and assist in development of financial policies and procedures
Work with ERP Team and Corporate Finance in report creation, dissemination and work with US Controller to ensure field offices and other Managers understand and utilize reports for decision making
Identify markers of, and monitor, financial health of the field offices, ensuring effective expense control and compliance
Improve upon existing forecasting and budgeting process so that the needs of both Home Office and field offices are met Provide support and assistance to US field offices for the budgeting process, resulting from the point above in accordance with the annual budgeting calendar
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Effective communicator and influencer with ability to clearly convey complex financial issues in a clear format for non-finance professions, motivating continuous and collaborative improvement
Ability to act independently, manage potentially diverse stakeholder needs and priorities, and follow-through with results
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with remote, cross-cultural teams.
Knowledge of the U.S. non-profit and INGO business sector, including compliance requirements of the U.S. and state and local governments
Strong coaching abilities to other leaders
Ability to navigate financial and non-financial data gathering and analytics; technically adept with ability to quickly learn and maximize usage of technology and software; effective user of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate skill in MS Excel
REQUIREMENTS:
Mature Christian Faith
Commitment to World Relief’s Mission, Vision and Values
5+ years of finance, accounting or grants management
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar discipline

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
General office setting
Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in skype meetings may be required
Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending
Physical, emotional and intellectual demands
Equipment used: Employee computer (desktop or laptop), printer, and copier
