Job Class: Education Finance Specialist 2
In this role, you will work to improve financial and program management for the business operations of school districts, charter schools, and other educational entities. You will work to coordinate the lease aid application process for charter schools, and will collect, analyze, summarize and report financial data on school districts, charter schools, and other educational entities to be used in state budgeting and in local funding decisions, and in required reporting. Duties include:
Five (5) years of professional experience in a finance or accounting role
OR
A bachelors or masters degree and four (4) years of professional experience in a finance or accounting role.
Experience must include:
Experience with school district/charter school accounting or finance
Experience with the Minnesota Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) system;
Experience with public accounting theory, practices, and standards;
Experience using software packages for accounting, data management, calculations, and analysis;
Experience with accounting and statistics
Experience working in large, complex databases including setting design specifications, building queries, and conducting analysis.
