Responsibilities:
To create comprehensive financial plans for new clients. This includes both working collaboratively with the Wealth Management Advisor and current team members in addition to having your own aligned thinking to best construct a customized financial plan for a client.
This position will be responsible for the investment strategy, recommendations and operations within the practice. This would include:
Creating investment takeover proposals
Responsible for investment client onboarding and experience
Interact with clients as the subject matter expert on their portfolios
Conducting research (morning star)
Creating executive summaries and talking points on client accounts
Monitoring and trading accounts (rebalance, tactical tilts, tax loss harvesting)
Handling inflows and outflows of money into accounts for clients
Writing briefs or potential commentary for clients
A key priority would be to interpret client data, understand time-lined goals and feelings and synchronize the right written or digital plan that may include but limited to:
Investments
Retirement Planning
Retirement Income Distribution Planning
Estate Planning Concepts
Life insurance analysis
Disability and Long-Term Care insurance analysis
Asset/Liability management and cash flow scenarios
Tax implications
Education Funding
Major Purchase Planning
Saving Strategies
Business Planning
The role will be responsible for updating financial plans for the existing client base as well. This would include staying in tune to relevant client goals and current economic and market conditions to provide the most prepared analysis and recommendations for the client.
Ensure the Wealth Management Advisor is briefed on planning and investment updates prior to meetings along with being able to interface with clients themselves to best explain analysis and recommendations in their situation. It is important for the director of financial planning to both understand how to read and input variables in a financial scenario along with being able to effectively communicate the output and recommendations of a plan to a client.
Other tasks may include:
Providing planning insights to the WMA and team members
Ensuring all client interactions are up to date in CRM system
Researching current regulations, tax law changes and other pertinent industry information to stay ahead of changes that can affect clients
Cross trained functionality to assist the team
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 2 years of investment or financial planning experience
Series 7 and 63
Life, Accident and Health State Insurance License
Experience with investment operations
Experience with client interactions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion and deep knowledge of the planning process and industry
