The Treasury Accounting group, within the broader Corporate Accounting organization, is responsible for full record-to-report accounting, systems, and controls over Intel’s cash management investment portfolio, shareholders equity, debt, and hedging and derivative programs. This candidate will be a key member of the Global Treasury Accounting team, responsible for providing technical accounting consultation to the team and its business partners on large, complex transactions involving these programs. This candidate will be heavily involved in Treasury system-related initiatives and will project manage finance modernization and other broad initiatives across the team.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a solid understanding of US GAAP accounting rules, have a proven track record of problem solving in a high-pressure environment, and have demonstrated strong communication and influence with the highest levels of management. Having knowledge and experience with financial instruments (including derivatives, various financial instruments, debt, and equity) is preferred, however, this can be learned. To be successful, this candidate must be an intermediate to advanced user of Excel, Power BI, or other data analytics tools and possess an aptitude for working in and with systems.
Public accounting experience is preferred and prior experience working in Treasury Accounting for a large multi-national corporation is considered an advantage. Responsibilities include:
Providing technical accounting transactional consultations, including writing and reviewing technical accounting whitepapers and running technical accounting scenarios for business partners.
Leading the team’s business process management (BPM) and business process improvement (BPI) initiatives.
Supporting the team’s annual and quarterly SOX cycle efforts
Supporting broad projects across the Corporate Controllers Office and providing critical assists across the Corporate Accounting organization.
Business partners generally include Treasury, Legal, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Reporting, and Operations Finance partners across the business.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills/traits:
Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting rules and practices.
Excellent data analytics skills and data modeling experience.
System savviness.
Strong research and technical writing skills.
Ability to communicate and present effectively, both upward and across organizations, troubleshoot issues, and drive solutions across stakeholders.
Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to challenge the status quo.
Knowledge of BPM and BPI continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, preferred.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum qualifications:
Possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
At least 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance.
At least 4+ years in public accounting.
Possess a strong understanding of and ability to execute SOX processes and procedures.
Preferred qualifications:
Candidates should be a CPA.
Experience in and/or passion for BPM / BPI
Solid understanding of SEC/GAAP rules and regulations, particularly accounting for financial instruments and investments (including derivatives).
