The Opportunity
This position within the CFO Group is responsible for leading, establishing and improving financial reporting and analysis for Enterprise Compensation and Benefits “C&B”. This position will partner closely with Ally’s Human Resources, Accounting, and Financial Planning and Analysis “FP&A” teams to drive out centralized, efficient, and sound financial analytics and reporting for Ally. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in business analytics and intelligence, logic and problem-solving skills, and finance technology applications.
The Work Itself
Strong collaboration with multiple groups to achieve comprehensive financial planning and analysis for Enterprise C&B, and clear linkage to Ally’s business plan and financial reporting.
Create, maintain, and improve upon processes for C&B and Headcount results. This includes monthly analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting processes supporting Ally’s monthly and quarterly financial reporting routines and development of Ally’s annual Business Plan.
Develop and maintain transparent financial reporting for Compensation and Benefits for the Enterprise, including actual and forecast data points, variance analysis
Impact analysis of various compensation and benefit initiatives through partnership with HR Compensation team and presentation to executive leadership (e.g., CFO); financial modeling of strategic opportunities and deal structures
Support of compensation governance routines through providing sound financial analytics and presentation skills
Ownership of C&B and Headcount data for Ally’s Corporate Forecast and all financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly processes
Lead ad hoc analytical projects as required
Manage personnel, delegate tasks, work effectively in a cross-functional team
The Skills You Bring
5+ years previous work experience within a Finance role preferred.
3+ years of experience preferred in financial services.
Experience with workforce planning, compensation planning, or other related human resource field strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting) required.
Previous experience with financial models preferred.
Strong understanding of financial statements.
Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, if / then analysis) and MS PowerPoint skills required. PowerBI or other Cloud-based reporting experience preferred
System experience with Hyperion, SAP, OneStream preferred.
Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis and prepare management presentations.
Ability to work with large amounts of data and distill into concise message
Ability to use mathematical techniques for forecasting.
Ability to influence others and work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
Strong communication skills required.
