Job overview and responsibilities
Provides leadership and direction for Account Executives and Inside Sales Representatives of a specific North America cargo region
Develops/maintains a motivated, positive, and professional sales team/organization
Responsible for cultivating customer relationships and approaches and ensuring field sales personnel are deployed and utilized efficiently and consistently to meet all revenue, product, and contribution objectives
Effectively implement/develop regional sales strategy to establish vision, goals, plans and standards for the specific region of coverag
Factoring regional intricacies while maintaining alignment with the overall North America Cargo Sales strategy and objective
Collaborate closely with the region sales, revenue management and operations team to deliver forecast/plan revenue figures, operational metrics and flight performance
Participate in the development sales tools and decision making reports
Develop, cultivate and maintain positive relationships with all current and potential freight forwarder and commercial customers in assigned region
Provide guidance, motivation and coaching and conduct performance reviews to develop/enhance team members skills and effectiveness – including Account Executives and Inside Sales Representatives
Oversees/manages compensation decisions and career development plans
Utilize Spotfire, Sales Force and other analytical tools to measure region performance and identify opportunities, understand closed ratio and develop a strong pipeline on new and existing business
Keep updated on internal United flights and truck schedules, industry market trends, pricing and competitive intelligence, industry rules and regulations through use of available market data, customer feedback and assessment of market capacity
Newark preferred. In exceptional cases, other key market locations would be considered.
Required
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
2+ years of cargo sales, revenue management or operations experience
Proficient in use of Spotfire Reports or related data visualization tool
Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
