Zillow’s experiential marketing and events team supports B2B and employee events. The team is responsible for curating memorable and unique experiences that drive business outcomes and foster an emotional connection between external partners, our employees and the Zillow brand. This is actualized through conferences, trade shows, hospitality events and employee activations.
The Senior Experiential Event Manager will work closely with the Event Director and business stakeholders on defining and delivering a B2B event strategy that advocates for the partner experience while driving business outcomes. Leading a small team of event experts, they will be responsible for executing 50+ in-person and virtual events a year ranging in size from 50-2,500 attendees. The role requires a thorough understanding of event production and a broader marketing acumen to successfully collaborate with leaders across the company.
Develop and execute an annual B2B event strategy that aligns and supports marketing and business OKRs.
Act as the key decision maker on events and strategic partner to stakeholders. Demonstrate business acumen and the ability to distill complex information.
Establish event goals, objectives, and priorities with business, marketing and agency partners. Define effective metrics to measure ROI in conjunction with marketing operations and sales.
People manage a small team of full time event managers as well as ad hoc contract support. Assist direct reports with short and long term career trajectories, growth and development
Project manage cross functional working teams, providing clear direction to maximize integrated efforts and program execution. This will include but is not limited to, B2B sales, partner marketing, product marketing, industry relations, communications, email marketing, creative, etc.
Oversee end to end planning, production, and execution of large and small scale B2B events including but not limited to: venue sourcing and negotiation, tech and platform sourcing, technical production management, F&B, housing, permitting, creative design, talent sourcing and management, executive management, agency sourcing, etc.
Manage $10M + budget, reporting on spend and ROI generated for each program
Develop and deliver event reporting to Zillow leadership, benchmarking success against established goals.
Drive creative ideation and execution with internal and external partners.
Who you are
10+ years’ in event marketing with a primary focus on executing large scale B2B events. 1+ years of people management experience
Experience planning and executing virtual, in-person and hybrid events
Experience working on projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating schedules.
Track record of driving and piloting new ideas, measuring the impact and iterating.
Strong executive presence.
Data driven with focus on metrics.
Ability to manage and influence across highly cross-functional teams including sales, customer support, PR, social and marketing.
Experienced project manager with the ability to plan and execute multiple projects at once
Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels and engage effectively with senior leaders
Adapts well to a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel (15-25%) and attend in person events that require vaccination status
This role has been categorized as a Hybrid position. “Hybrid” employees regularly work at an existing ZG corporate office for approximately 10 to 80 percent of their time each month, and the rest of the time they may work from a remote physical location of their choice within a reasonable commuting distance from the corporate office which must be identified to the Company in advance. The Recruiter and Hiring Manager will set expectations on the employee’s preferred time in office. ZG has not defined a reasonable distance, and expects employees will use judgment in determining this for themselves and understand the implications re: time commitment and cost of daily commute.
In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $112,400.00 – $179,600.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
