Zendesk Looking for Director, Corporate Finance & Strategy (consolidations) at Remote, United States Full Time

Job Description

The Corporate Finance & Strategy team serves as a trusted advisor to the company, informing and guiding critical C-level decisions through insightful analyses & thought partnership. We are looking for a bright, driven individual who will succeed in a fast-paced environment and support our team in making sound recommendations that will allow the company to scale as we propel the business now from a Billion in Revenue to the Multi-Billion era.
This is a highly visible and key leadership role that is cross-functional in nature and requires collaboration across all Finance & Strategy functional teams. You will lead a powerhouse team of three professionals; own/manage Zendesk P&L (how cool is that); influence Expense, Margin & Headcount planning efforts/targets; be heavily involved in the annual planning & long range planning efforts; lead many high-profile strategic projects for the CFO, SVP of Finance; and drive the quarterly Board of Directors & Audit Committee materials and guidance targets/strategy. We are a lean team, so your impact will be felt immediately. This team has a track record of growing and launching some of our most promising finance talent around!
Responsibilities:

• Lead consolidation & headcount alignment processes – analyze financial results, distill and synthesize trends and communicate risks & opportunities
• Own the Budgeting/Forecasting process and cadence – set the calendar for P&L forecast and comms these items crispy/succinctly to streamline efforts
• Develop competitive benchmarking on our corporate P&L and target structure
• Liaise across our Finance & Strategy teams, influence key personnel & program expense and headcount assumptions driving our budgets, forecasts, and other predictors of future results.
• Assess forecasts to ensure accuracy, reasonableness, feasibility, and credibility.
• Explore investment opportunities to support company-wide strategic initiatives with appropriate staffing. Support leadership in making strategic tradeoffs in regards to expense & headcount decisions.
• Partner with F&S leadership and the Office of the CEO on the Annual Planning process
• Lead and mentor your team – next wave of talent!
• Implement improvements & automation to streamline current processes
• Tackle new & evolving priorities for the team, including ad hoc analyses

Requirements:

• 10+ years experience in finance, accounting, investment banking, consulting, private equity, business operations, or sales operations
• Experience with financial modeling and analytical mindset / working with data required
• Positive attitude with high aptitude to learn new things quickly. Team player eager to further develop and grow with us
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and hunger to continually up-level current approaches and processes
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail – “get it done” attitude
• Highly adept in Excel. Working knowledge of SQL, Netsuite, Workday, Adaptive, Hyperion, or other planning tools a plus
