POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Director position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The Finance Specialist maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while managing accounting functions, including payroll/HR, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. This position provides the leadership role in the monthly financial closing process for the Association, including both Marco Island and Naples branches. The Finance Director has full responsibility for the timely month end closing process and financial statement preparation for the Y. This will include preparing assigned and additional journal entries as needed and leading the preparation of internal financial statements and preparing account analysis and reconciliation functions. In addition, this position will be the point person responsible for the timely completion of all financial and audits of the financial transactions and books for the Y as well as preparation of IRS form 990 and related schedules, and YMCA of the USA annual financial reporting. This position will prepare assigned tasks in a timely manner with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail to help ensure accuracy and integrity of the financial records.
This position will provide leadership and supervision to the accounting staff and works with the CEO and other Director-level team members to provide support for YMCA finance and business operations. This position will provide oversight and direction in developing and maintaining strong internal controls over financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Hires, trains, supervises, develops, and manages all accounting staff including HR/payroll, accounts payable and receivable, grants accounting, and general accounting.
· Coordinate and supervise operating cash flow management and maintain relationships with banking and investment institutions.
· Perform or oversee accounting functions as assigned including cash, income and expense, insurance, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, etc. Assure proper revenue recognition standards are applied for contributions, grants and other various types of funding for Y programs and services.
· Oversee payroll and HR functions and personnel. Lead implementation of merged payroll/HR system and ensure all compensation related transactions are recorded properly in the general ledger.
· Plan, coordinate and lead the monthly closing of the books for the YMCA (both branches plus any future branches) according to applicable accounting standards, in an accurate and timely manner.
· Prepare monthly statements and supporting reports. Report monthly results to the Finance committee including variance analysis, forecasting, and benchmark reporting.
· Prepare annual financial statements. Support auditors with annual external audit and the completion of the IRS Form 990 and annual YMCA financial report.
· Manage the preparation of account reconciliations, bank reconciliations and account analyses. Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
· Maintain grant tracking system and submit financial reports to various granting agencies (NCEF, United Way, YMCA, government agencies, etc.).
· Analyze current and past financial data and performance by organizing and evaluating data from a range of sources. Prepare internal reports, dashboards, and projections as needed. Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
· Lead the annual budget process.
· Lead the accounting system implementation for the merged organization in 2022.
· Maintain knowledge and understanding of current and emerging accounting standards (GAAP, FASB, GASB) and apply those standards in daily accounting tasks.
· Lead in the development of a strong system of internal controls including development and monitoring compliance with fiscal policies and procedures.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or equivalent.
· Eight or more years of progressive experience in accounting, nonprofit experience is preferred including supervision of professional level accounting staff.
· Advanced knowledge of computer systems, including strong experience with Microsoft Office applications, and systems implementation project management experience.
· Must be able to meet the associations background screening requirements.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
· Completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Neglect class
· Completion of the YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training
· Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
· Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor

Pay: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
