Director Finance & Operations
In this role you have the overall responsibility for the daily running of the Avinode Group’s finance and operations function in the US. A role where you get the opportunity to oversee the whole function – from daily operations to year end close. This role is also responsible for providing support to the management of the company, through reporting and analysis, to enable making informed business decisions.
What you will do
- Lead the accounting functions for the Americas, overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, month end close, treasury and tax.
- Review and audit reporting and BI data for accuracy with revenue recognition, revenue category and expense reporting.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis and assist in preparing forecasts and budgets.
- Manage a team of two direct reports; Senior Staff Accountant and Accounts Receivable Lead ensuring OKR’s and KPI’s are delivered in alignment with quarterly and annual company and department objectives.
- Ensuring internal controls are maintained at the highest level of integrity.
- Liaise with World Fuel Services Finance dept on payroll, CAPEX, Tax, Intercompany and other Finance and Accounting matters as they arise.
- Manage relationship with outside Tax Firm for annual tax filings, state and local tax filings and sales tax requirements.
- Calculate incentives based on annual plans and collaborate with Director of Customer Success for accuracy.
- Collaboratively work with department leaders to optimize workflow.
- Identify, investigate, and analyze areas for potential operational improvements.
- Other Operational and Financial tasks and projects as assigned.
Who you are
- CPA Preferred
- 5-8 years of experience in a similar position (preferably in SaaS business model)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Applications including CRM, PBI and Business Central Cloud version
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong experience in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Number savvy and clever problem solver, who enjoys cross departmental collaboration
- Ability to manage and motivate employees. You are able to build and foster teamwork and love to help other people grow.
- Display natural initiative to take on financial and operational objectives.
- Technical aptitude for data integration across applications.
- South Florida/Miami preferred
- International travel (1-2 trips per year)
