The opportunity:
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team. As the Finance Manager, you will have overall finance responsibility for multiple business units with over $500 million of revenue. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Finance – Merchandising Displays & Graphic Solutions, the role will provide insights, recommendations, analysis, and drive improvements in operations, sales, and the overall profitability of the business. In this role, you will be a business partner to the Operating and Functional Leadership teams accountable for the bottom-line results. You will provide leadership for the finance team in your area including developing talent, mentoring, and coaching Financial Analysts, with diverse backgrounds and skillsets.
How you will impact WestRock:
Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, and support variances from budgets and forecasts from a business perspective and work with management on problems/issues as identified and participate in providing solutions.
Support weekly and monthly forecast updates from a business perspective, guiding Area/Business Unit management on changes in volume and operating earnings.
Analyze trends in manufacturing, sales and other related areas to better understand and manage the business.
Provide a fact-based understanding of the bottom-line benefit for all Area/Business Unit decisions and/or opportunities.
Provide support to the Sr. Manager, Finance to develop and maintain internal reporting and Path to One scorecard for monthly business reviews
Measure the profitability and cost to serve of all customers and work with internal teams to improve those with a negative contribution margin and/or profit
Obtain a working knowledge of all available sales’ analytical tools and assist is variance measurement of volume/price/mix
Support cost inflation/deflation tracking and measurement
Maintain long-term planning models connected to the business strategy
Advance automation in all workstreams
Responsible for all Area/Business Unit capital project economic analysis and maintaining modeling consistency (i.e., a standardized approach to calculating financial performance).
Work closely with Area/Business Unit and Division management to develop and implement additional strategic profit improvement initiatives.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
A minimum of 5 years of relevant analysis experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills, passion for improvement
Advanced skills in Excel and Hyperion SmartView; Experience with QlikView a plus
Ability to work independently, balancing routine responsibilities with ad hoc requests
Able to thrive in a growing and fast-paced environment
Previous experience in manufacturing industry (corrugated/packaging), preferred but not required
Occasional travel to participate in site visits & strategic reviews
Must possess potential to advance to a leadership role
