Our Decatur manufacturing facility is committed
to nutritional innovation, product quality, and safety. To ensure our
product quality, we control the entire manufacturing process in
Decatur, from consistent quality checks on all raw materials coming
into the plant, to the shipment of our finished product to customers.

Position Summary
The Procurement
Specialist ensures that the company’s materials and products meet all
of their specifications. They locate key suppliers and negotiate
purchasing agreements with them on behalf of clients to get higher
quality goods at the lowest prices possible.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Devising and using fruitful procurement
and sourcing strategies
Discovering profitable suppliers and
initiate procurement partnerships
Negotiating with external
vendors to secure advantageous terms
Approve the ordering of
necessary goods and services.
Finalize purchase details of orders
and deliveries.
Developing procurement strategies that are
inventive and cost-effective.
Sourcing and engaging reliable
suppliers and vendors.
Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to
secure advantageous terms.
Reviewing existing contracts with
suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
Building
and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of
goods and services.
Performing risk assessments on potential
contracts and agreements.
Controlling the procurement budget and
promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments,
inventory, and the supply of goods.
Preparing procurement
reports.
Job Duties as Assigned
Workplace Safety
Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance
to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
Participates in mandatory safety trainings and adheres to all safety
policies
Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and
injuries
Quality & Food Safety
Completes quality
& food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program
standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
Participates in
mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements
Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the
policies and procedures outlined. Takes actions necessary to resolve
food safety and quality system deficiencies
Required to report
food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to
preserve the BRC system.
Position Requirements
Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English
language.
Ability to work in an environment which includes
frequent exposure to elements such as odor, noise, heat, cold, dust
and chemicals.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Must be
familiar with use of hand tools.
Good verbal and mathematical
capability at a high school level.
Ability to read and understand
process operating procedures.
Familiarity with computer
applications.

3-5 Year
