The Perinatology Research Branch is seeking a Manager, Finance. Candidate will manage the annual operating budget and contract budget in the Perinatology Research Branch. Monitor accounts, programs and projects and provides recommendations.
Approves expenditures for all units and evaluates current operations in order to identify and implement improved policies, procedures and strategies.
This position will to the Senior Director.
Essential functions will include:
Oversees the fiscal activities and finances of department.
Serves as resource to School/College/Division units as well as liaison to other University units and outside organizations. Interprets policies and procedures, resolves related disputes and maintains professional relationships. Required to maintain current knowledge of trends and developments in Accounting, Finance and related fields.
Conducts and provide analyses, studies, and s and makes presentations and recommendations required to improve efficiencies and optimize the use of resources.
Enhances financial ing and monitoring systems; identifies needs of internal and external customers; interprets, explains and updates findings as required to ensure pertinent issues and concerns are addressed.
Serves on internal and external ad hoc committees and, on an interim basis, manages the fiscal operations of an operational unit.
Manages and provides overall leadership and direction to staff to ensure accurate and timely customer service delivery. Sets expectations & focus, assigns duties, delegates responsibilities, evaluates activities, prepares performance appraisals & professional development plans. Manages the administrative process for assigned staff including hiring, promotions, terminations, disciplinary procedures, and salary adjustments. Provides ongoing performance feedback, goal setting, and development plans for staff. Plans for future staffing needs.
