An Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for assisting in the direction and administration of all financial operations of the hotel in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

As the Assistant Director of Finance, you would be responsible for assisting in the direction and administration of all financial operations of the hotel in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Manage the department to include, but not limited to, managing special projects, monitoring and developing team member performance, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, delivering recognition and reward, recruiting, interviewing and training team members.
• Prepare daily income audit and weekly payroll, oversee daily activities of the Finance department including accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing functions.
• Assist with monthly forecast, budgets and maintain spending controls to ensure forecast and budgetary limits are met.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank statements, assets liabilities and credit cards.
• Prepare monthly financial statements of the entities.
• Assist Director with internal daily audits of cash deposits, transfers and preparation for and monitoring of the capital budget.
• Prepare financial reports, prepare utilities and telephone accruals, monitor records of inventory and ensure compliance with all established billing and credit standards.
• Review tax returns to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Monitor, approve and prepare daily payroll accounts and issue all paychecks.
• Ensure compliance of hotel systems and procedures with control standards established by Hilton.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Hospitality Management; preferred but not required
• Two to five years experience in hospitality accounting operations
• Proficient in all Windows based Accounting systems
• Strong level of proficiency in Excel
• Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spread sheets and complex technical information
• Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines
• Effective management, leadership, organizational and communications skills
• Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

• Experience in a luxury environment
