DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY FOR COST ACCOUNTANT Volt is working with a Monrovia surgical company! JOB DUTIES: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Value inventories (Raw material, WIP, FGI) and record book to physical adjustments Coordinate Accounts Payable and Cost Accounting efforts with General Accounting group to ensure accurate and timely close Analyze and record inventory reserves as appropriate Prepare and analyze all aspects of product costing to include quarterly cost rolls and inventory revaluation Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of all financial reports Prepare monthly operations review package, monthly gross profit analysis, and monthly budget to actual comparisons emphasizing significant variances Act as liaison between Finance and Manufacturing Operations Work closely with manufacturing management to identify cost reduction opportunities/ programs and streamline accounting processes Monitor & coordinate semi-annual physical inventories Monitor cycle counts and investigate and report significant variances to Global Director Cost of Accounting Monitor and ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Report identified deficiencies/weaknesses to Global Director of Cost accounting Interface with the Company’s external auditors and internal audit Participate in annual operating plan preparation and strategic plan preparation as required, primarily in the development of manufacturing costs and the calculation of standard margin and gross profit Develop manufacturing costs for Latest Estimate and work with FP&A in loading Planful System Assist in developing and documenting cost accounting procedures/desktop procedures Assist management team with special projects as assigned Other duties as assigned SKILLS Demonstrated good understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing control systems, including costing, planning/scheduling, variance calculation and shop floor control. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical, prioritization, decision-making, and management skills. Excellent PC skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. Minimum three (3) years manufacturing cost accounting experience in an environment utilizing integrated manufacturing control systems, preferably in a job cost system.
