Job Summary:
Vivace has an immediate need for a Finance Director supporting engineering development and manufacturing operations at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA. The Finance Director role provides a tremendous growth opportunity for an ambitious individual to partner with the founder, program directors, and technical leads to provide critical financial guidance and shape strategic business decisions moving forward.
As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of the programs, maintaining accurate and timely financial records, preparing financial reports, and implementing effective internal processes and controls. In addition, this position will create robust time phased financial plans by partnering with the Program Office and Business Development to shape, bid, negotiate and capture new customer opportunities.
The successful candidate will be an individual who is comfortable developing and maintaining financial processes in a small business manufacturing environment. They can prepare financial reports for prior periods, as well as provide forward looking financial plans and variance analysis for the following month, quarter, and year. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be an integrated member of a highly technical 70-person team and will operate as the confident voice of Finance for the entire business.
This role is listed as hybrid with main operations in New Orleans, LA; however, an on-site candidate is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Accounting:
· Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
· Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and treasury functions.
· Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and manage banking relationships to optimize liquidity.
Financial Reporting and Audit:
· Conduct financial analysis and provide accurate and timely reports to senior management, highlighting key financial indicators, trends, and risks.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or relevant accounting standards.
· Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reporting requirements, including regulatory filings, tax returns, communicating with external auditors and other statutory obligations.
Strategic Financial Planning and Guidance:
· Lead program and functional management on the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial analysis to meet all financial plan commitments and cost control initiatives.
· Collaborate with the executive team to develop financial strategies and support strategic decision-making.
· Provide financial analysis and insights to evaluate investment opportunities, cost reduction initiatives, and revenue growth strategies.
· Lead financial aspect of customer proposals and negotiations for both new awards as well as updates to existing contract scope.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly desirable.
· Typically requires 10 years finance/accounting experience; OR an advance degree with 8 years finance/accounting experience.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, regulations and financial reporting standards
· Experience with Estimates at Complete (EACs) as well as Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to include budgeting & forecasting, Annual Operating Plans (AOP), and Risk and Opportunity (R&O) management.
· Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadline
