For over 30 years, LGBTQ Victory Fund and LGBTQ Victory Institute (Victory) have helped to train, place, and elect thousands of openly LGBTQ public officials at every level of government. Our leaders have been catalysts for expanding legal rights for LGBTQ people across the country, and they have transformed our nation’s policies and shifted our political landscape towards equality, one election at a time. Today, more than 1,000 LGBTQ Americans are serving in elected office due to the work of Victory, including nine members of congress, two U.S. senators and two governors.
Victory seeks an accomplished Finance and Operations Manager to assist the Chief Financial Officer and the Director of Operations in managing the day-to-day administration (finance, information technology, reporting, facilities) of the organizations. The Finance and Operations Manager will bring to the team strong analytical skills, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to work where your contributions will have an immediate and direct impact on the organizations’ performance.
General Responsibilities:
Finance
Execute daily accounting functions for the organizations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits and expenditures.
Maintain chart of accounts, vendor and donor lists and other general recordkeeping functions related to financial operations and indirect cost reporting.
Maintain trail balance on an accrual basis, including monthly adjusting entries relating to deferred rent, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, etc.
Prepare payroll with Victory’s PEO and oversee financial aspects indirect cost reporting including monthly allocations.
Conduct monthly reconciliations (bank statements, credit card account) and closing procedures.
Support the CFO and independent audit firm to ensure timely preparation of annual audited financial statements and 990 IRS tax filings.
Manage the financial calendar, including renewals of insurance, tax filing, benefits and payroll.
Assist the CFO and independent election compliance advisor to meet FEC, state and local political regulations and reporting requirements.
Operations
Monitor inventory of office supplies and order as necessary.
Oversee the maintenance and operation of printers, postage system, telephones and supplies for each.
Assist the Director of Operations in managing expectations, visits and functionality of independent IT vendor.
Support the Director of Operations in the execution of staff related events such as retreats and trainings.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; plus 2 – 5 years of finance related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience in nonprofit administration.
Familiarity with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to execute multiple tasks and prioritize requests. Familiarity of accrual accounting
Strong attention to detail is a must.
Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humor.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Quickbooks Online a plus.

Position is based in Washington, DC.
The salary for this position is $55,000 – 65,000. Please include salary requirements in your materials.
