Your Role

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role on the Retail Operations Finance team by ensuring Landlord occupancy expenses are billed accurately through financial analysis and audit procedures. This role is also responsible for monthly forecasts / annual budget of store utility expenses. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical thinking capabilities and excellent communication skills. The candidate is also enthusiastic, self-motivated and demonstrates the ability to drive results including the constant pursuit for process / control improvements.

Your Impact

• Gain an overall understanding of Real Estate payment process
• Work cross functionally with internal partners (e.g. Real Estate, Legal, Lease Accounting)
• Develop/maintain effective relationships with landlords
• Address landlord inquiries and default notices in a timely manner
• Interpret lease language and audit landlord invoices to ensure lease compliance
• Validate invoices for payment, ensuring proper level of approvals are obtained
• Set up landlord payments and adjust monthly escrows as appropriate
• Manage monthly forecasts / annual budget of store utility expenses based on actualized results and analysis of key variances.
• Reconcile landlord statements and resolve differences
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis

Must possess the ability to:

• Develop a clear understanding of business processes and issues
• Establish productive working relationships with landlords and internal partners
• Clearly communicate points of view in a concise manner
• Perform financial analysis in Excel
• Reconcile data and analyze variances
• Demonstrate absolute adherence to data integrity and internal controls

Qualifications

Your Experience

• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Tenacious attention to detail and the ability to see “the big picture”
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in financial modeling considered a plus
• Enthusiastic, high energy, self-motivated
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
• 5+ years experience in a finance/accounting environment
