Job Summary:

The Manager, Payroll Tax and Accounting is charged with leading all aspects of payroll and employment tax reporting, payments, and accounting for the company and all of its US and Canadian entities. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll and employment tax laws as well as compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements. Stays current on legislative actions impacting payroll and employment taxation. Manages relationships with third party vendors. Leads a team of tax/accounting analysts and specialists, providing mentorship, coaching and overall professional development

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate payment and journalization of all federal, state, and local payroll taxes
• Lead the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns
• Oversee timely completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Advises the research and analysis of general ledger reconciliations
• Ensure timely completion of all payroll-related financial transactions per the month-end close calendar
• Maintain relationships with internal partners as subject matter expert including, but not limited to: Corporate Accounting and Accounting Shared Services, Benefits, Legal, HR Compliance, HRT, HR Service Delivery, PeopleConnect and HRBPs
• Manage, develop, coach direct reports
• Special/Ad-hoc projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of managing multi-state payroll tax filings
• Solid understanding of and ability to interpret payroll and employment tax laws, internal payroll operating systems, and payroll tax software
• Strong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience in PeopleSoft – preferred

The budgeted range starts at $89,100 – $121,305 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
