Vaco Hiring for Director of Financial Systems Job at Raleigh, NC Full Time

This position will develop and implement automation improvements and oversee configuration, maintenance, administration, support, and process documentation of various financial systems, including the general ledger, T&E systems, FP&A, reporting, and account reconciliation systems. This position will work closely with leadership in finance and information technology to achieve the goals for the accounting/finance functions. This position is a highly visible, strategic, and collaborative role working with the finance team.

This position will lead projects involving selecting systems, ongoing enhancements, system configuration, reporting, and updates to support the organizational needs. The position maintains a significant span of control, providing leadership to a team of associates, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and talent development.

This position directs the design, development, testing, and ongoing administration of the Accounting team’s systems and participates in the organizational change management efforts required with each initiative. Drives efforts in organizational mergers, acquisitions, and audits and is ultimately focused on supporting efficient and accurate reporting of financial results both internally and externally through technology solutions.

Key Experience and Skills:

• Experienced Financial Systems Director/Senior Manager with advanced knowledge of various financial software tools (i.e., ERP, Forecasting, HRIS, and Payroll systems, etc.)
• Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated track record of applying program management principles, practices, and techniques with a strong results orientation
• An understanding of financial and operational process flows both conceptually and within an ERP system.
• A collaborator and have the ability to develop strong partnerships with both the technology and finance functions.
• Self-motivated problem solver who can assess and develop strategies for achieving the user community’s needs.
• An effective communicator and can partner with leadership in finance and technical staff to develop written reporting and presentational content with level-appropriate messaging, including the senior executive level.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Business Strategy – Develop the system strategy through a partnership with business unit leaders, IT, and other key stakeholders in Accounting. Executes strategy and ensures alignment both inside and outside of their specific business unit through personal leadership efforts.
• 
  System Support – Manages a team responsible for designing, configuring, reporting, testing, implementing, and upgrading their supported business system(s). Directs efforts to troubleshoot and improve processes for end-users. Leads the vendor selection process, including oversight of vendor activities related to department initiatives. Evaluates system functionality and effectiveness through user feedback, analysis, process documentation, and develop solutions to enhance systems as necessary.

  Managerial Functions – Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to policies, procedures, and efficiencies to meet objectives. Manages the hiring, performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes group achievements by providing technical and professional development.

  Change Management – Directs change management efforts across the organization for their business system. Provides appropriate training and education for business users, managers, and associates, as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, focused on Accounting and Reporting platforms.
