Reporting to the Director of Participant Affairs, as the Assistant Director of Participant Finance, you will be responsible for taking a holistic view of the financial assistance options and other resources available to educators working in urban settings and communicating those options to applicants, participants, and alumni. You will facilitate participant needs-based grant distribution.
Responsibilities
Design and manage policies and systems for participant financial assistance grants (academic year and summer transition), including the participant communication, participant application process, reviewer training, and distribution recommendations
Identify available and relevant financial aid and financial assistance offerings to applicants, participants, alumni as a means of enhancing the participant experience and minimizing financial barriers
Manage existing partnerships with financial services providers supporting applicants, participants, and alumni
In coordination with the Managing Director of Policy and Business Development, design new partnerships with external financial services providers and national and state organizations to further support candidate/alumni financial well-being
Liaise with the Managing Director of Policy and Business Development around state and federal financial aid programs for teachers
Support site teams in identifying local financial resources for participants and communicating relevant information to cohorts
Support site teams in ensuring data collection around school placements to ensure candidates are eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and TEACH grant service obligations
Train site and recruitment teams on matters related to participant finances
Provide support to the BEI team with UNCF scholarship eligibility coordination/communication
Provide support to the Assistant Director of AmeriCorps with Segal Education Award eligibility communication
Location:
This role is fully remote and location is flexible, though a preference may be given to candidates in Baltimore, Washington DC, Dallas, or Philadelphia.
