Who is Urban Roots?
Urban Roots is a 501(c)(3) agriculture-based education non-profit mission driven to change the way our community eats and learns by growing healthy minds, bodies, and communities through hands-on education in the garden. Urban Roots is founded on the idea that food is a powerful tool for academic and nutrition education when it is fully integrated into the classroom and accessible to the community. Serving primarily northern Nevada, Urban Roots has a history of bringing seed-to-table education to our community, our children, and the educators who teach them.
Our team is led by passionate people who started as volunteers and worked their way up. Collectively, we value, positive attitudes, enthusiasm for making a meaningful change in our community and willingness to work both independently and collaboratively as a valued part of the team.
Urban Roots is an equal opportunity employer that highly values staff diversity.
