Position Description

Assists School of Medicine (SOM) Lead Fiscal Officer (LFO) in overseeing daily operations of SOM. Provides high level guidance, instruction and assistance to all Health Science Campus (HSC) Schools for personnel at all levels, including Executive Directors, Unit Business Managers (UBM) and Program Managers. Acts as signator/approver at Dean/Executive Vice President Health Affairs (EVPHA) level for HR and Financial requests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and approve for further review by Compensation all SOM reclassification and in-range requests.
• Review and make approval recommendations to the Dean, CFO, and/or LFO on School of Medicine authorizations to hire and xpays.
• Signator for Dean for SOM personnel actions including PARs, JDCs and xpays.
• Review, approve, and assign speedtypes for SOM/HSC Financial Affairs purchase requests.
• Review and approve pro card limit increases.
• Act as liaison for HSC Financial Affairs/Deans office to UBMs to clarify policy, answer questions, resolve processes.
• Provide HR and financial analysis upon request.
• Prepare budgets and budget revisions for Dean/HSC Financial Affairs.
• Review and approve budget revisions for all SOM departments.
• Review and approve access requests for various enterprise applications for SOM.
• Act in LFO’s stead in her absence.
