Primary Responsibilities:
Partner with Senior Clinical Leadership to develop, enhance and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for their respective business areas
Provide financial oversight for $200M+ in spend; collaborate with business leaders to understand and influence cost drivers, leverage points, and assumptions
Partner with clinical leadership to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans, and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies
Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills in partnership with clinical and financial leadership to resolve any issues
Develop, perform, and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as well as performance and governance measures
Develop, enhance, and maintain financial reporting to clearly communicate results, forecast performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget
Understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions
Collaborate with Clinical leadership and Human Capital on FTE governance to ensure resources are appropriately managed within the organization
Develop and produce ad hoc financials models and analyses to drive critical business decisions
Provides leadership to, and is accountable for the performance of, finance staff
Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for their stakeholders
Influence actions of peers inside and outside of finance

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent degree
4+ years of financial or accounting experience
Experience in trend / variance analysis
Knowledge of fundamental financial concepts and procedures
Advanced level of proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated Financial acumen
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment
Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Hyperion Essbase and/or PeopleSoft Financials
Experience in the Healthcare Industry
Solid interpersonal & communication skills (written & verbal)
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a high paced environment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
